Despite framerate issues in Areas like Blighttown or the Ruins of Izalith and  more or less precise controls that will suck out your optimism harder than most bossfights, this game set new standards in the landscape of RPGs around the world.

The Game is set in Lordran, where you - the chosen undead - start out in the northern asylum for the undead and fight your way out. Once you reached the outer world, you are confronted with the quest to lift the curse of the undead and become the new Heir of the Flame.

Suit yourself and be ready to explore the maze-like Areas.

The one in which the controls finally got fixed.

Dark Souls III added quite a few things to the game and remedied the game a lot. Spells no longer represent the "hidden" easy mode in the game, as you need to spend focus points which you can refill with a blue Estus Flask. The blue Flask has to be balanced with the normal Flask. Weapons possess special abilities and the most essential NPCs are located in Firelink Shrine, although you may find additional Merchants for Weapons, miracles, Magic and Pyromancies and teleport them to your Home Area.

The Age of Fire has almost come to an End. You are the Ashen One, an Undead who is destined to rekindle the eternal flame or extinguish it. Travel to Lothric, the Kingdom that succeeded Lordran and discover the impressive ruins. Get ready for a world in which imminent death is coupled with Nostalgia for the places you have died in before.

Beat the Four Lords of Cinder. Travel throughout a Land filled with traces of the great battles between humans, monsters and even Dragons.
